![]() Watchman Nee.īy the time Watchman Nee was arrested in 1952, approximately four hundred local churches had been raised up in China. This is the greatest truth in the universe. A prison guard found a scrap of paper in his cell after his death on which was written:Ĭhrist is the Son of God who died for the redemption of sinners and resurrected after three days. In 1952 he was falsely accused and imprisoned by the Communists. He spent the rest of his life preaching, teaching, and writing. He had previously considered Christian work to be a low occupation that was beneath him. He was well-educated and had great aspirations in life, but he realized that becoming a Christian meant surrendering everything to God. At the age of 17 he gave his life to Jesus, forever altering his plans. He was born of second-generation Christian parents in Foochow, China in 1903. In order to make this article brief, I will severely limit quotations from the book in the hope that you will read it for yourself.įor those of you not familiar with Watchman Nee, his real name was Nee Shu-tsu, whose English name was Henry Nee. I was not disappointed as I reacquainted myself with Nee’s teaching. I decided to reread Nee’s work and write this summary since it is one of the very top books on my recommended reading list. ![]() Over the years I have come to understand what a blessing that was, since many people have never benefited from such teaching. It profoundly shaped my understanding of the meaning of Romans 5-8. I read this book in the 1970s as a new disciple. ![]()

![]() ![]() The other Will Grayson, whose point of view is never capitalized, goes through life with nothing to hold onto other than an online relationship with someone who goes by the name Isaac. This is complicated by the fact that his best friend, Tiny Cooper, who has been described as "the world's largest person who is really, really gay" and "the world's gayest person who is really, really large," is not the type of person to stay away from the limelight, as is evident from his attempt to create an autobiographical musical. The first Will, whose point of view is always capitalized correctly, is described as trying to live his life unnoticed. The story revolves around two boys named Will Grayson. Couple that with surviving the gruesome yet unique experience of high school, and we may just find ourselves in a major pickle!Īuthor’s Name - John Green, David Levithan The conversations relating to the LGBT community have been challenging, but at its root, the true challenge is finding out who you really are. However, this is not true for all instances and at the ground level, a large quantity of people keep their homophobia close. ![]() ![]() The subject of sexuality and ‘coming out of the closet’ has been on the central stage for a short while now and a whopping amount of acceptance seems to be generating worldwide. ![]() ![]() ![]() In return, he’ll help her make the guy that she’s into a jealous wreck by pretending to be in a relationship with himself. He discovers that Hannah, who’s in his class, could help him out by becoming his tutor. Garrett, who is most likely going to the NHL after graduation, needs some extra help bringing up his grades in order to keep that dream alive. She’s finally found someone she’s willing to try it all again with, but he hardly notices her (of course), so she unwittingly gets some help from the big man on campus and Division 1 Hockey Team captain, Garrett Graham. ![]() ![]() Hannah Wells is incredibly smart, she can get an A+ on a paper without having to try, but dating and putting herself out there with painful memories from her past really makes it more difficult than she likes it to be. I honestly had no idea I was going to enjoy them as much as I did! What It’s About: It’s funny, I just happened to discover these books when I was doing research for my current Work in Progress (WIP), and it showed up when I was looking for popular titles that took place on a college campus. ![]() The first story in a total of four books in a New Adult (NA) romance series these books sizzle enough to melt the ice these boys play on (I know, slightly painful punny metaphor). Genre(s): New Adult Romance, Romance Total Star Rating: 4 Stars ![]() ![]() Magical beings and spirits live in her family’s village and the surrounding forest and Vaysa occupies her time offering them food and socializing with them. Her father often avoids Vaysa because she reminds him of the loss of his wife, however Vasya doesn’t mind the solitude-she has others to spend her time with. His wife died while giving birth to Vasilisa (the youngest), a sacrifice she made in order to pass down the magic that was bestowed upon her at birth by her mother-a magic woman who married into royalty. ![]() Her father, a wealthy boyar (similar to a duke), rules over the settlement that houses his family-three sons and two daughters-and many villagers. Set in earlier times, this mix between fairy tale, historical fantasy, and a coming-of-age story follows the life of Vasilisa (aka Vaysa) Petrovna and her family, who live in a forest in northern Russia. The book of my choosing, “The Bear and the Nightingale” by Katherine Arden-voted one of the best Science Fiction and Fantasy books for 2017 by Goodreads -did not disappoint. ![]() Whilst my wistful wishing for a white Christmas went unfulfilled, I attempted to satisfy my winter wantings with a book set in Russia-a country rather infamous for its harsh and unforgiving winters. ![]() |
